Denmark: Immigrants not saving for pension

New-Danes are in great danger of getting into an economic jam when they retire.

4/5ths of Danes between 15 and 59 save for their old age, but only 2/5ths save among immigrants, according to an analysis by ATP according to Økonomisk Fokus.

Most will furthermore only get reduced pension benefits and will turn to other types of social assistance to uphold a minimal living standard.  This is because they're not here long enough to get full national pension, and also don't have a private pension account.

The missing savings mean, according to research head and PHD Eskil Heinesen of Anvendt Kommunalforskning, AKF, a risk for social disparity and social problems for many immigrants.
