Netherlands: No evidence of illegal trade in mosques

The AFM (Autoriteit Financiële Markten) found no evidence of illegal trade in shares in mosques.  This according to Finance Minister Wouter Bos in the parliament.

The financial inspectors could find nothing to show that Islamic investment funds were being sold in Turkish mosques belonging to the Milli Görüs organization.  An AFM spokesperson said that the investigation so far did not produce any new evidence.

The investigation was started after media reports that 400,000 Turkish immigrants were swindled out of 5 billion euro with so called "green investment funds", named after the color of the Muslim flag.
